Turn them off and save money:
When you turn off your computer, don’t forget your monitor, speakers, printer, calculator, and other gadgets. Only turn them on when you need to use them. Shut it all down when you leave for the day. Computer experts used to recommend you leave the computer on, but the technology has improved. Some updates and programs need a reboot to perform better.
Most electronics and appliances use energy even when turned off, especially chargers and converters. Some can draw as much as 70% of the power needed when turned on! Unplug them, or put them on a power strip and turn that off. Only plug in phone chargers while charging the phones, and you can watch your energy bill plummet.
